A travelling campaign led by young people from Belgium, Germany, Poland, Serbia, Finland, and Romania, focused on feminism and gender equality. Through meetings with activists and participation in workshops, the young people strengthen their commitment and skills. In six cities, the group organizes film screenings and public discussions and undertakes street actions to raise awareness and encourage advocacy for feminist values.
Feminism has many voices—queer feminism, black feminism, womanism, ecofeminism, bodily rights—each illuminating an essential dimension of equality.

Goals
Following the success of The Future We Want, we’re hitting the road again—this time with the Feminist Transnational Caravan. This youth-led journey brings a group of young people together to design and deliver a vibrant awareness campaign across cities in Europe. We recruit and train the participants, co-create street action tools with them, and travel together as a mobile, creative, and courageous caravan for gender equality.
Why this matters
Our project promotes active citizenship, common values, and inclusion in the field of youth. In a context where conservative ideas and withdrawal are gaining traction, we equip young people to challenge regressive narratives and stand up for progressive, intersectional feminist values. Feminism has many voices—queer feminism, Black feminism, womanism, ecofeminism, and body rights—each shedding light on different dimensions of equality. By exploring these perspectives, participants gain the knowledge, confidence, and skills to advocate for an inclusive society where everyone’s rights are respected.
From local learning to European action
We begin with a national focus program. In Belgium, participants meet over two weekends in March—first in Liège, then in Brussels—to engage local stakeholders and explore the local context. Together, we’ll raise our voices on 8 March, International Women’s Day, to spotlight feminist issues and community-led solutions.
In early July, participants from the five countries of the partnership gather in Serbia for a five-day international training. Here, we build the group that will form the caravan and strengthen their capacities in leading street activities and awareness-raising campaigns. This hands-on approach empowers participants to take immediate action and see the impact of their efforts in real time. Street action tools—quizzes on giant game boards, street theatre, singing, and more—are quickly embraced by young people, offer high visibility, and engage passersby in fun, meaningful conversations. They’re replicable city to city, making them ideal for a transnational campaign.
Before departure, participants co-create the online campaign and finalize the tools for live activities. These resources will be published in an open-access toolbox, supporting ongoing civic engagement and making it easy for others to adapt and use the materials in their own communities.
The journey: cities, stories, and solidarity
At the end of August, the caravan sets off—starting in Liège, then traveling by train to Bonn, Berlin, Krakow, Wroclaw, Budapest, Timisoara, and finally Bucharest, where we close at the Feminist Film Festival. In each city, we’ll host local workshops on specific feminist topics, screen films, and spark dialogues with community members and activists. Throughout the journey, we’ll also produce a short film capturing messages and insights from diverse stakeholders and feminist voices we meet along the way.
Impact: civic skills, common values, and inclusion
The caravan strengthens young people’s sense of initiative and civic responsibility. By engaging directly with the public across different countries, participants help shift attitudes toward gender equality and European common values. They gain practical experience in advocacy and community organizing, while deepening intercultural understanding through exposure to varied feminist movements and political contexts.
Inclusion and diversity are central to our approach. We intentionally engage young people from a range of backgrounds—including those with fewer opportunities—and address interconnected issues such as women’s representation in media, gender-based violence, intersectionality, and the diverse forms of feminism mentioned above. By training youth workers and young leaders in street campaigning and civic activities, we amplify the project’s reach and sustainability.
After the caravan
Once the journey concludes, participants reconvene to share experiences at local events in their cities. These gatherings sustain momentum, nurture local networks, and invite more young people to join the movement for gender equality, inclusion, and democratic participation.
Join us—as a participant, partner, or supporter—and be part of a Europe where young people’s voices are heard, valued, and mobilized for change. The Feminist Transnational Caravan is more than a journey; it’s a living, learning, and traveling platform for activism, creativity, and solidarity.
